Hi,
I dont know if you are aware of the case of Norman Macleod, the Wick Station Manager who was sacked after using a swearword during a difficult search. We have started a Facebook page in support of Norman and his 8 colleagues who walked out in his support. We have sent a petition to the Minister for Transport. I have sent numerous e-mails to Richards Parkes (MCA) begging him to look at the case from both sides which he refuses to do, I have since put in a formal complaint about his handling of the case. It is not new up here, in 2007 the Ness Manager was sacked by the same person and his team walked out also and finally the Stornoway Manager was also sacked by the same Manager(a Mr.Ian Burgess). This is not the way to treat volunteers as in Normans case he has served well for 44 years. I am trying a test case in so much that I have applied to get a hearing at the Employment tribunal.I do believe that there is something fundamentaly wrong with MCA and it needs serious investigating. I am a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Association in the states and I heard that you had been in contact with us. I am glad to see that the Guardians in the UK are also looking out for your own. I deployed on a couple of Her Majesty's Naval Vessels in the mid 90s in support of our counter narcotic mission in the Carribean, and I can say that if your Guardians are like your sailors, you are a fine bunch. Hi everyone, I am the Sponsor Coordinator for the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard in Safety Beach, Victoria Australia. I have just been given this position and I wanted to say that you have given me some ideas on having some kind of event or events in the future to raise funds for our flotilla. Hi Damian,

There will be photos shortly along with prices as we are just in the process of getting the promotional items.

They will all be on the website shortly.

On the fund raising side there are so many ways you can help our charity I can always send you a collection box or if you do any PR's then you can ask for a donation for the CGA. I know alot of people who do talks and they get a small donation as a way of saying thanks.

I will email you our suggestion guide for raising funds when I go to work on tuesday evening.
